America didn't start with freedom for all religions

By Rev. Rusty Weller
     America has it all backwards
We no longer are a nation under God. No, we are a nation under gods. Freedom FROM religion increasingly is being forced on those who insist on the truth of Jesus.
Our culture is exactly the opposite spiritually of what our Founding Fathers intended. As born-again followers of Jesus, they established our right as citizens to worship the God of the Bible as we see fit.
Not to bow to Buddha or Muhammad or Krishna.
Our inspired leaders, who daily and wholeheartedly sought God’s all-important guidance, pledging their very lives and fortunes to accomplish His will, never intended the United States to be anything but a completely Christian nation.
Our Founding Fathers knew God is real, Jesus is alive and the Holy Spirit works wonders in the human heart. They knew from experience the Lord’s way works just as the Bible says. Our early leaders put complete trust in the Bible’s Supreme Being, and their historic success against overwhelming odds is proof of the wonderful blessings available to any under the lordship of Jesus.
Boy, things sure have changed, haven’t they?
Evangelical Christians now are accused of not getting along with other religions. We’re inflexible, closed minded, intolerant and insensitive, say the politically correct:
    * Inflexible because we believe you must be born again to be right with the Living God.
    * Closed-minded because we refuse to compromise our beliefs.
    * Intolerant because we believe Jesus is the only way to heaven.
    * Insensitive because of the guilt over sin and hell we inspire in them.
Get along with all God-denying religions, we’re told, and quit inflicting our views on others or be judged as committing "hate crimes."
God’s love twisted into hate -- that’s how backward our nation has become. To our Founding Fathers, hate would be NOT demonstrating the Lord’s love by telling the honest-to-God truth.
Well, I’m unashamed to state I’m inflexible, closed minded, intolerant and insensitive. I pray you are too.
To be faithful to the God of the Bible, I lovingly must tell Moslems they’ve been tragically misled. After all, who would call for holy war’s hateful bloodshed as a righteous solution, the God of the Bible or the prince of this world?
To those who follow anything or anyone other than Christ Jesus, I’m lovingly obligated to say you are in danger of hell’s eternal torment. There is no other name you can call upon to escape the flames and inherit heaven other than Jesus.
To all who can’t remember the moment they trusted their hearts to Christ for eternal salvation, and thus became new creations, I’m lovingly compelled to say please be sure. Doing more good than bad won’t save you. Neither will Godly parents nor your name on a church roll.
Narrow is the gate that leads to heaven, and America is on an eight-lane freeway the opposite direction. Play nice? There isn’t time. Live and let live? Be open-minded and accept other beliefs? Not and be true to Jesus.
Increasing numbers of committed Christians will be forced to judge whether it’s right to obey God or our misguided culture. Be ready with your answer when the opportunity comes.
